The 2017 Global Game Jam was the perfect opportunity to work with two of my cherished mentors, Brandon Farrell and Nick Vachara. Brandon Farrell is a shader specialist while Nick took on the task of designing the swarm behavior of the fish nodes. So, I volunteered to work on the projects infrastructure and start screen.

I was very proud of the state machine I designed that dictated the flow of the scenes. Additionally, we implemented multi-monitor multiplayer in a way that the game would detect when a second monitor was available and switch camera rigs accordingly.

Near the end of this project, I made a fairly expansive structure changed that caused my team a lot of unnecessary hardship in the final stretches of development. I don't think I've ever forget the lessons I learned that weekend as a result.
